We are looking for a Data Science Product Portfolio Manager to join our growing team.

About the Role

As a Data Science Product Portfolio Manager, you will help manage our data science product delivery in partnering with clients, organizing multi-project initiatives, and enabling technical solutions. The right candidate will be a key point of contact for clients, translate business goals into product solutions, manage expectations, provide executive briefs, and be responsible for the quality of all client deliverables and messaging to ensure projects achieve business value for our clients. You will drive the translation of novel data science approaches into high value product offerings for our clients. You will support the direction of program initiatives and work alongside the Director of Data Science, and both the technical and business development teams on the execution and delivery of AI and machine learning (ML) analytics products. 

About You

You are inquisitive by nature, detail oriented, creative, patient, and a results-focused problem solver who enjoys collaboration with your team. You use critical reasoning, are open-minded and enjoy the steps involved when confronted with a complex challenge.  You have a high standard of accountability and can influence customers by creating effective presentations that communicate complex analytics to non-technical senior management and executives. You bring experience communicating with Government stakeholders and project team(s) effectively and timely both verbally and in writing. You are comfortable coordinating day-to-day project activities and client contact.

Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in STEM Field, medical/healthcare science discipline or equivalent experience (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics. Physics, Statistics, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a technical role such as a data scientist, solutions architect, machine learning engineer, AI consultant, or as a product leader in a highly technical environment.
  • 5+ years' experience managing/delivering complex and technical products, preferably in the data science space
  • Ability to plan strategies, create and track strategy implementation, track plans, activities, and milestones, coordinate activities and deliverables across the program team members, and report to executive leadership
  • Ability to utilize an innovative mindset that applies to business, delivery, and solution models
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, including refining vision statements, evolving organizational constructs to improve product and service delivery
  • Knowledge of user experiences (i.e. drafting user stories to accurately capture the needs of users)
  • Experience with delivering multi-disciplinary IT strategy, planning, implementation, and performance analysis to missions
  • Strong technical capabilities with an understanding of how to appropriately document and deliver code
  • Expertise in developing key project-related documentation such as proposals, executive briefings and presentations
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to influence at an executive level
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Government Clearance
  • Experience with Cloud-based solution implementation preferred

Location and Telework
This is a remote position. Candidates must be willing to travel to the office, in Arlington, VA, for the occasional team/client meetings. DC Metro candidates are preferred. Five percent travel can be expected. Flexibility is expected of the employee to be available for client/team meetings if the employee lives outside the Eastern Time Zone.
